Can Do Health & Care - How Do We Heal

Thanks to Colin Gray of East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust for the powerful photographs of staff in masks during the outbreak. Chair, Amanda Lyes, Interim ICS Director of Workforce As the significant recent pressures of Covid-19 begin to subside we are beginning to think about how we will move forward again into the future as a health and care system. We know that Covid-19 has affected each of the one million people living in Suffolk and North East Essex in very different ways. So for us all to move forward we need more than just a plan – we need to think about how each of us feel and how we can build on our experiences of the past year. We all need to think about ‘How do we heal?’. Amanda Lyes, Chair of this event, explained that today’s event had been organised as part of our wider ICS ‘How do we heal?’ Campaign in Suffolk and North East Essex specifically to consider the issues for our health and care workforce as we move out of the Covid-19 pandemic. The outputs of the event will contribute to the forthcoming ICS ‘How do we heal?’ summit on 16 June 2021. The event focused on three main themes: WHY we need to heal, HOW we can heal, and WHAT we can do moving forward, followed by a panel discussion.
