36 | ICS System Learning: Uncomfortable Truths Appendix: Our panel chairs and members Tanvir Alam, North East Essex Alliance and BAPIO After gaining a Bachelor’s degree(MBBS) and a Master’s Degree (M.S. in Orthopaedics) in India, Tanvir worked in the Middle East before moving to the UK working in Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery and Accident & Emergency. He moved into General Practice and has worked in Primary care, Urgent care and Mental health. He is the Clinical Director for Clacton Primary Care Network, a GP partner at East Lynne Medical Centre, Clinical Consultant for iC24 (Level 8 – 111/CAS) and a Lead GP for Southern Hill Hospital (acute mental health services). He is Chairman of the GP Training Forum, providing free teaching to GP registrars where there is a significantly lower pass rate for BAME and International Medical Graduates. Sharon Alexander, Chief Officer, CVS Tendring Sharon began her career as a detective in the Merseyside Police, later working at ECC’s Adult Community Learning and as a Youth Officer before joining Tendring CVS as the Chief Officer in 1990. Sharon has been instrumental in creating and launching several charities, she led the mergers of several charities, and has been a charity trustee. Sharon chairs the Tendring Together VCFSE Strategic Partnership, and is a director of Together for Essex, a consortium of CVS Chief Officers. Sharon is a member of the ICP and the VCFSE Assembly, and a board member of the NEE Alliance. Sharon is currently a NAVCA assessor for the Local Infrastructure Quality Accreditation. Caroline Angus, Head of Innovation, NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board and Health Innovation East Caroline has a background in academia, local authority and the NHS, leading transformational change programmes to create a culture of innovation readiness and collaboration across the system. Her ambition is to accelerate the prioritisation, development and uptake of innovation that addresses the needs of the NHS and partner organisations, based on input from patients, staff and key stakeholders.
